Almost four years since the previous release, this new album is something special: a collection of my own original compositions from a period spanning 40 years. From Minnesota to New York to Israel, it’s been an eventful journey, and the music has also evolved and matured. They feature my own vocals and orchestral arrangements.I’ve gained much experience from the previous 3 albums, and I feel the performance style and recording quality is considerably more developed. But the real point here is the melodies themselves. Many are songs that I sing at my Shabbos table every week, and have passed down to my children.

There’s quite a variety here, from Shabbos Zemiros to liturgical compositions.

Here’s the list:

  1. Lo Seivoshi – 4:05   Fast paced melody, the second half of the popular Lecha Dodi sung at the Friday night Kabbolas Shabbos
  2. Shalom Aleichem – 5:42  Mystical atmosphere for the opening song of the Friday Night meal
  3. Aishes Chayil – 6:13  Exceptional beautiful melody for the Friday night song glorifying the Jewish woman, and allegorically, the Torah
  4. Azamer Bishvachin – 5:28  Elaborate setting of the mystical Friday night song with words by the great Kabbalist, the Arizal
  5. Adon Olam – 4:25  The popular synagogue song set to a very beautiful, lyrical melody
  6. Mimkomcho – 5:17  Powerful melody to the words from the Kedushah of Shabbos Shacharis
  7. Yom Zeh Mechubad – 5:03  Fast, catchy melody for this standard zemirah from the Shabbos morning meal
  8. Boruch Kel Elyon – 7:23 Beautiful melody set to this Shabbos zemirah usually sung during Shalosh Seudos, the third meal
  9. Adir Ayom – 4:45  Classic melody for this deep zemirah sung during the Melaveh Malkah meal
